Mari Lou’s Fine Jewelry Store

Orland Park, IL

Project Info

A key requirement of selling jewelry is to display the jewels in bright, color corrected light to enhance their natural beauty. Not only is the type of lighting important, but the lighting locations must also not create shadows. As a result, the exact placement of the lighting is critical to the display counters and cases. This 2,300 square foot jewelry store utilizes 87 can lights, 2×2 general lighting and two custom designed 4’x8’ LED lights to simulate skylights in the center of the store, all while meeting the International Energy Conservation Code requirements for power consumption.

The second most important requirement for a jewelry store is security during and after hours. Considerable resources were utilized during the design process to maximize the security of the staff and jewels.
