Project Info
The program called for a lecture hall; a hybrid therapy gym equipped with individual therapy mats, classroom tables, 360-degree therapy swings and associated therapy equipment; and an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite to address the basic needs of a patient with varying medical conditions. The ADL program incorporates a fully functional kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and bedroom. The design challenge was to open up these rooms so that a demonstration could be viewed by an entire class while maintaining the normal obstructions found in a private residential setting. Also incorporated into the design was an occupational therapy treatment setting typically found in a clinical or therapy office. Muscle manipulation/stimulation equipment, splinting & group treatment areas were created.
