An existing 17,000 sf grocery store was converted into a private technical college with programs in Veterinary Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Accounting, Administrative Assistant and Medical Assisting.
The largest challenge of the program was the creation of a dog kennel for 40 dogs that was required to be separately mechanically exhausted and acoustically isolated. Other facilities were created for housing and care of cats, rabbits and rodents. The suite is complete with an x-ray lab, a teaching surgical suite, and a pathology lab. Another specialized suite was created for the physical therapy assistant program complete with therapy gym, teaching treatment room and full sized exam room. General academic spaces include smart classrooms, library, cafeteria/lounge and administrative offices. Building and site improvements included a new roof, HVAC system, landscaping, an exterior dog play area, a redesigned and renovated parking lot and redesigned exterior.
