This office building was designed for the Beverly Area Local Development Corporation which was created to revitalize the neglected areas in the south side of Chicago Beverly community. The site chosen was in an urban development zone and purchased with government funding. Because the land was used as a gas station in the 1970’s, a significant environmental cleanup was required before work could begin.
The project was to be a signal of community evolution and a significant step toward re-building the heritage rich community with new businesses. As a monument to that statement, a clock tower was added to the design. Since this project was completed, more businesses have opened, and a nursing home, a police station and post office have been constructed in the area.
